Back on the bedrest

So, it's been a crazy busy couple of weeks in this house.
Last Wednesday night I took a little trip to Labor & Delivery after several hours of contractions every 7 minutes or so. Followed up with my doctor the next day. All in all it was semi uneventful. They were able to stop the contractions but did confirm that I was starting to dilate already. Joy. So, it was back to limited activity.

The real scare came yesterday evening while I was lying in the hammock reading and watching the kids play. The rope that was securing it to a tree came untied and the hammock and I fell about 2 and a half feet to meet the hard clay ground. I immediately started having contractions 2 - 4 minutes apart and was in some serious discomfort from the fall. After calling my doctor, he confirmed that he wanted us to be seen at the hospital right away, so in we went. Yeah, ALL of us.
To make a very long 18 hour story short, they did a KB blood test to determine if there was an inter-uterine bleed or tear, more bloodwork, an ultrasound, and lots and lots of fetal monitoring. However, they did not want to stop my contractions right away because if the baby didn't monitor well or if the bleed turned out to be severe we would be delivering right away. The results of the KB came back positive but indicated that the bleed was small and that it should heal on its own with rest. The baby's heart rate was good and she looked a-ok.  I sent Sam and the kids home to get some rest and finally, finally, finally they released me around 11am this morning. So now I am on strict bedrest with orders to get up only to use the bathroom while I heal. I'm still so sore that there isn't much I can do anyway... so bedrest it is. I have an appointment on Tuesday to follow up with the doctor and hope to be back on limited activity bedrest soon. Sam has treatment next Thursday and Friday so I have a week to rest up.
Anyway, that's what's going on with us! I'm a little scattered and a whole lot sleepy so naptime here I come.
XOXO,
Alex
